MAGNAFLOC-611 and ZETAG 4190 DK are high-performance anionic polyacrylamide flocculants widely utilized for efficient solid–liquid separation in water treatment, wastewater management, mineral processing, and industrial operations. These polymers are designed with high molecular weight and optimized anionic charge densities, providing excellent particle-bridging capabilities and rapid floc formation. Their ability to flocculate fine suspended solids, colloids, clays, and organic or mineral fines makes them particularly effective in applications where conventional coagulation is insufficient for clarifying water, thickening slurries, or improving sludge dewatering performance.
1. Municipal Water Treatment
In municipal water treatment plants, MAGNAFLOC-611 and ZETAG 4190 DK are widely used as flocculant aids following the addition of conventional inorganic coagulants such as alum, ferric chloride, or polyaluminum chloride. Raw water sources, including rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, often contain high concentrations of fine clays, silt, organic matter, and algae that are challenging to remove solely through coagulation.
The addition of these anionic polyacrylamides enhances particle aggregation by bridging destabilized colloids into large, dense flocs, which settle rapidly in sedimentation basins. This results in:

The high molecular weight and anionic charge of these polymers facilitate:
a. Tailings Thickening
Tailings streams contain ultrafine particles that are slow to settle. MAGNAFLOC-611 and ZETAG 4190 DK produce large, compact flocs, improving thickener underflow density, reducing overflow turbidity, and enhancing water recovery for recycling into process circuits.
b. Process Water Clarification
Clean recycled water is critical for grinding, flotation, and leaching processes. These flocculants clarify process water streams, removing clay, silicate, and metal oxide particles, and ensuring water is suitable for reuse.
c. Coal and Mineral Slurry Dewatering
In coal washing, iron ore, alumina, or other mineral processing, the polymers enhance filtration and dewatering by forming flocs that release water efficiently in belt presses, centrifuges, and gravity thickeners.
d. Red-Mud Settling

4. Sludge Thickening and Dewatering
MAGNAFLOC-611 and ZETAG 4190 DK are extensively used in sludge dewatering systems in both municipal and industrial facilities. They are compatible with mechanical equipment including belt filter presses, screw presses, centrifuges, and rotary drum thickeners. By producing strong, drainable flocs, they improve cake solids, reduce polymer consumption, and lower sludge disposal volumes and costs.
